Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Kensons Garage collects, uses and protects any personal information you provide when you contact us or use this website. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. England & Wales.
Who we are
Kensons Garage is a family-run car body repair business based in Brixton, South London. For the purposes of data protection law, we are the data controller responsible for your personal information.
Our contact details are:
- Kensons Garage
- Arch 2, 173 Ferndale Road, Brixton, London SW9 8BA
- Email: kensons173@gmail.com
- Telephone: 07950 428 012 or 07730 273 608
What information we collect
We only collect the information you choose to send us when you make an enquiry — for example through the quote form, by WhatsApp, by email or by telephone. This may include:
- Your name;
- Your contact details (such as your phone number and email address);
- Details of your vehicle (such as make, model and registration);
- A description and any photos of the damage or work you would like us to quote for.
We do not ask for, and you should not send us, any more information than is needed to provide you with a quote and carry out a repair.
How we use your information
We use the information you provide solely to:
- Respond to your enquiry and provide you with an estimate or quote;
- Arrange, book in and carry out repairs or servicing on your vehicle;
- Communicate with you about the work and answer any questions you have;
- Liaise with your insurer where you have asked us to handle a claim on your behalf.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for marketing without your consent.
Our lawful basis for processing
Under the UK GDPR, the lawful bases we rely on for processing your information are:
- Taking steps to enter into a contract — where you ask us for a quote or to carry out work, we process your details to provide that quote and perform the repair;
- Legitimate interests — to respond to your enquiries and run our business efficiently, in a way you would reasonably expect and which does not override your rights.
This is a static website
This website is a static site that stores no personal data on a server. There is no database and no account system. When you use the quote form, it simply opens your own email app (or your device's messaging app) with your message pre-filled — your enquiry is sent directly from you to us, just as if you had emailed us yourself. We only ever see the information you actually choose to send.
Third-party services
To keep the site useful we rely on a small number of third-party services:
- Google Maps — we embed a Google map so you can find the workshop. If the map loads, Google may receive data such as your IP address and may set its own cookies. Your use of Google Maps is subject to Google's own privacy policy.
- WhatsApp — if you choose to message us on WhatsApp, your message is handled by WhatsApp under its own privacy policy. You only share information with WhatsApp if you decide to contact us this way.
Cookies
This site uses essential cookies and a local consent preference only. We do not set tracking cookies without your consent. For full details, please see our Cookie Policy.
How long we keep your information
Because this is a static site, we hold no personal data on a server. Any enquiry you send by email, WhatsApp or phone is kept only for as long as is necessary to provide your quote, complete any repair and meet our legal and accounting obligations (for example, keeping records of work carried out and payments received). After that, we securely delete or destroy it.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:
- The right to be informed about how your data is used (this policy);
- The right of access — to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
- The right to rectification — to have inaccurate information corrected;
- The right to erasure — to ask us to delete your information;
- The right to restrict processing in certain circumstances;
- The right to object to processing based on our legitimate interests;
- The right to data portability for information you have provided to us.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details below. We will respond within one month.
How to complain
We hope to resolve any concern you have, so please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority for data protection. You can reach the ICO at ico.org.uk or by calling their helpline on 0303 123 1113.
